Saima Salman, Founder/CEO of Rational Living Inc Pte Ltd, is one of the leading Cognitive Behaviour Therapist and Corporate Trainers in South East Asia. Saima has over 28 years of diverse clinical experiences with the American, European and Asian populations. Saima has traveled extensively and has lived/worked in the USA, Europe, and Asia.
Saima is a Clinical Fellow at the prestigious Albert Ellis Institute, New York City, USA. She was personally trained and supervised by Dr Albert Ellis during her Clinical Fellowship. She has also done extensive training with Dr Aaron Beck and Dr Judith Beck at their Cognitive Therapy Institute in Philadelphia, USA. Saima is the only Cognitive Behavoiur Therapist from South East Asia who has had the honour of being trained by two psychology giants : Dr Albert Ellis and Dr Aaron Beck.
Saima Salman wears many hats; she is a seasoned Clinical Psychologist and a Certified Clinical Supervisor specializing in Rational Emotive Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, a Master Corporate Trainer, an international motivational speaker presenting at conferences and conducting workshops for professionals, students and general public, and an Emotional Empowerment Trainer with a Singaporean Award-Winning Social Enterprise (Bettr Barista) that helps the local underprivileged/marginalized single mothers and youth at risk. Saima is a Certified Youth Mental Health FirstAider (Georgetown University) as well as a Certified Yogi for Teens (IntegralYoga, NYC) She has also been working as an Emotional Empowerment Trainer for the female inmates at the Changi Prison. Saima is a Certified Pilates and Zumba instructor.
Saima is also the first Muslim Cognitive Behaviour Therapist to have done extensive research on Islam and RECBT (Rational Emotive Cognitive Behaviour Therapy). She also coined the term iRECBT, which stands for Islamic Rational Emotive Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. Her extensive research and conculsive paper was not only acknowledged by the father of CBT, Dr Albert Ellis himself, but it was also appreciated and shared with some of the leading Clinicians in the world.
Saima is extremely passionate about creating public awareness of mental health issues. She has been involved with multiple non-profit organizations and schools, both in Singapore and aboard. Some of her major areas of interest and passion are women’s issues, especially topics related to emotional, mental, narcissistic and psychological abuse and its effects on women, as well as emotional empowerment for teens. She has been running awareness / psychoeducational camps, groups and talks for teens and women nationally and internationally.
